WHAT WILL THE PARTICIPANTS COME AWAY WITH?
An understanding of:
the dynamics of communication and conflict
both their own and others’ communication styles and conflict ‘imprints’
effective courageous conversation techniques and have the confidence to then apply them in relevant conversations arising after the training
how to effectively utilise the organisation’s values in work-related courageous conversations.
IS THE TRAINING COMPREHENSIVE?
Courageous conversation skills are required and transferable across of every part of life, yet, surprisingly they are seldom taught as a set. This training offering is comprehensive - it covers all of the attitudes, skills and tactics required to have timely and effective difficult conversations.
IS THE TRAINING CUSTOMISABLE TO MY ORGANISATION'S NEEDS?
Yes, and it is important that it is! The training is customised to the specific values, needs and interests of the organisation or group commissioning the training, and to the target participants in the courageous conversations (e.g. courageous conversations with stakeholders, people leaders, colleagues, team mates etc.) The training is designed to be relevant, practical and actively applied post-training.
WHY SHOULD MY ORGANISATION INVEST IN THIS TRAINING?
Courageous conversations are needed more than ever at this highly unpredictable and challenging time.
Effectively, genuine and timely courageous conversations, whether they be with a colleague, a direct report, team, or an external stakeholder, can prevent disputes, sustain and strengthen relationships, and generate unexpected new opportunities.
This training will grow the confidence and capability of your people leaders and team members to have transformative courageous conversations.
WHAT IS THE SERVICE DELIVERY PROCESS?
The process begins with a briefing session. This is an opportunity for you to outline and clarify your organisation’s specific training interests, discuss relevant context, and share your organisation’s values. The outputs of this meeting allow Robyn to tailor the training to your specific needs and environment.
You will then receive from Robyn a draft training plan, for your input - a further step towards ensuring the training really hits the mark. Robyn will also collect from you some relevant, real-life difficult conversation scenarios, which she will anonymise and adapt to create on-point, interactive, training activities.
The training itself is multi-modal allowing for different learning styles. Participants receive pre-workshop reading material and/or undertake a preparatory online activity. In the sessions, Robyn utilises a range of visual, verbal, and interactive training techniques. Participants are left with useful tools and resources for future use. The training is designed to be relevant, practical, and actively applied post-training.
In the month following delivery, all participants can take up the opportunity to have a one-to-one, 15-minute long, confidential Zoom chat with Robyn. This time can be used by participants to explore a topic in greater detail or to discuss strategies for a current or historical, real-life difficult conversation.
WHAT ARE THE DELIVERY OPTIONS?
The training can be delivered face-to-face, or by video conference, or a hybrid of the two, as you require.
