ABOUT GLENYS

BArch, MMgt(BGS Honor), PRIMed

Glenys Gwynne is an executive coach, leadership development specialist, and facilitator who has spent her career helping people navigate complexity, strengthen self-awareness, and lead with greater confidence and authenticity. Her work is grounded in a deep belief that sustainable leadership begins with understanding ourselves, our impact on others, and the systems in which we work.

Drawing on extensive experience across executive coaching, organisational development, and adult learning, Glenys has partnered with leaders from a wide range of sectors including higher education, health, banking, professional services, and the public sector. She is particularly skilled at supporting leaders through periods of growth, transition, organisational change, and increased responsibility, helping them build the insight and resilience needed to thrive in demanding environments.

For more than a decade, Glenys has worked closely with academic and professional staff at the University of Auckland, including as a coach within the Academic Leaders Programme. Through this work, she has developed a strong understanding of the unique challenges facing leaders in complex, values-driven organisations, where influence, collaboration, and psychological safety are critical to success.

Today, Glenys co-designs, delivers, and evaluates bespoke leadership development programmes that are tailored to the needs of each organisation and focus on creating lasting behavioural change rather than one-off learning experiences.

A lifelong learner herself, Glenys remains actively engaged with emerging research and practice in leadership, coaching, adult development, and social psychology. She continually integrates contemporary thinking around psychological safety, human behaviour, motivation, group dynamics, and organisational culture into her coaching and programme design, ensuring her work remains relevant, evidence-informed, and responsive to the challenges leaders face today.

Known for her warmth, curiosity, and ability to build trusted relationships, Glenys creates environments where people feel safe to reflect, challenge assumptions, and grow. Many of her client relationships have endured for years, reflecting both the depth of her expertise and the genuine partnerships she builds.

Glenys is accredited in the Life Styles Inventory (LSI), Hogan Assessment Suite, and FIRO-B assessment tools. She also holds a Certificate in Training and Human Resource Development from the University of Auckland. These frameworks support her work in helping leaders better understand themselves, their interpersonal impact, and the dynamics that influence individual and team effectiveness.

At the heart of Glenys’ work is a simple belief: when people develop greater awareness of themselves and their impact on others, they create the conditions for healthier cultures, stronger relationships, and more effective leadership.
